SULZER CALCITEK INTRODUCES SPLINE TWISTMAX DUAL-SURFACE DENTAL IMPLANTS
CARLSBAD, CA (September 27, 1999) -- Sulzer Medica announces that its California-based subsidiary and dental practice building company, Sulzer Calcitek, offers two new additions to its Spline dental implant family. TWISTMAX MTXTM and TWISTMAX MP-1TM dual-surface dental implants feature the patented Twist self-tapping design and are available in two dual-surface options.
Sulzer Calcitek designed TWISTMAX MTX and TWISTMAX MP-1 with high-performance smooth titanium where clinicians want it and high-performance surfaces where they need them. TWISTMAX MTXTM is uncoated with a microtextured titanium surface up to the third thread. Above the third coronal thread of each implant is machined (smooth) titanium. TWISTMAX MP-1TM is HA-coated from the bottom of the implant up to the third coronal thread with Sulzer Calciteks patented MP-1 HA coating.
Both implant options feature the patented Spline dental implant interface, which provides the reduced micromovement proven to reduce screw joint failure.1-2 At the apical end of the implants are three spiral flutes that resemble a twist drill, known in the industry for cutting and efficiently moving bone chips. The flutes direct bone chips up and away from the cutting edge for greater implant stability. The three cutting edges create a highly stable platform during implant insertion.
Other Twist implant options include the microtextured titanium Twist MTX, the machined titanium Twist Ti, and the fully-coated HA Twist MP-1. All Twist implants come in the patent pending SNAPTM touch-free delivery system.
