SULZER CALCITEK INTRODUCES SPLINE ENGAGING SHOULDERED ABUTMENT SYSTEM
CARLSBAD, CA (August 1, 1997)-- Sulzer Calciteks Spline prosthetic system now has an Engaging Shouldered Abutment (ESA). It engages the spline, taking full advantage of the precision fit and high strength it offers.
The ESA includes a second spline interface on the abutment cone, which is engaged by a specially designed gold coping. The ESAs advanced design makes it our most versatile restorative component yet. It is equally well suited for both single and multiple tooth restorations. Its tapered cone allows implant restoration up to 30° convergent or divergent.
The ESA is ideal for esthetic restorations. Abutments feature flared gingival cuffs to create natural emergence profiles. Multiple cuff diameters help you match the tooth being restored. Porcelain can be carried down to the base of the gold coping, so no metal is visible.
The impression is taken at the abutment level, so components are easier to seat. A specially designed open tray transfer coping records the position of the abutment spline. A corresponding abutment analog transfers the abutment spline to the lab model. After the impression, abutments can be left in the mouth while the prosthesis is constructed. The ESA uses existing instrumentation, so its easy to add to your practice. For Spline 3.25, 3.75, 4.0 and 5.0mm implant diameters, the ESA is available in 2, 3 and 4mm cuff heights with flare options of 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5mm.
